1️⃣ How to Know a Message Was Deleted
(https://i.ibb.co/F4XF0WCZ/hq720.jpg)
When someone deletes a message for everyone in a chat, WhatsApp shows:
"This message was deleted."
So you can always tell that a message was deleted — that part is clear.
2️⃣ Can You See the Deleted Message?
By default, WhatsApp does not let you see the content of deleted messages. But there are a few ways people try (keep in mind privacy concerns!):
a) Notification Log on Android
Some Android phones keep a notification history.
Steps:
Go to Settings → Apps → Notifications → Notification history (may vary by phone).
Enable Notification history.
When someone deletes a message, you might still see it in your notification log.
Limitation: Only works for text, not media like photos/videos.
b) Third-party Apps
There are apps that claim to save WhatsApp notifications/messages so you can see deleted messages.
Warning: These apps can compromise privacy and security, so use them carefully or avoid altogether.
c) Ask the Sender
The simplest and safest way: politely ask the person what they sent.
💡 Extra Tip: On iOS, there's no official way to recover deleted messages unless you have a backup that includes the message. Android gives slightly more flexibility with notification logs.
