Error 0x0006 in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is a common online disconnect issue that forces players into offline mode after a match and can lower your Fair Play Score. While SNK has acknowledged the problem, they haven't released a definitive patch yet. However, several workarounds and solutions have helped many players
✅ 1. Check Server Status
Go to the official SNK Twitter/X or forums to confirm if servers are experiencing downtime or maintenance.
If servers are down, the error is likely temporary.
✅ 2. Switch to Wired Connection
Online fighters like Fatal Fury are sensitive to unstable networks.
Use an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi to reduce latency and packet loss.
If you're using Wi-Fi, ensure you're close to the router.
✅ 3. Port Forwarding / NAT Type
Ensure the following ports are open on your router:
Protocol Port Numbers
UDP 3478–3480
TCP 1935, 3478–3480
For PlayStation or Xbox users, also check your NAT Type — aim for NAT Type 1 (Open) or 2 (Moderate).
✅ 4. Use a VPN (Optional)
Some users report fewer disconnects when using a VPN with a stable U.S. or EU server, especially if their ISP throttles gaming traffic or routes inefficiently.
✅ 5. Disable IPv6
IPv6 sometimes causes handshake failures in online matchmaking.
Windows Instructions:
Open Network and Sharing Center
Click your active connection > Properties
Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
Click OK and restart your PC
✅ 6. Adjust Firewall / Antivirus Settings
Add the game to the exclusion list of your antivirus and firewall.
Ensure these apps aren't blocking outbound/inbound connections:
FatalFury.exe
Steam.exe or EpicGamesLauncher.exe
✅ 7. Use DirectX 11 (PC only)
Some players have better online stability forcing the game to run in DirectX 11 mode:
In Steam:
Right-click the game in your Library > Properties
Under Launch Options, type:
diff
Copy
Edit
-d3d11
✅ 8. Reinstall the Game (Last Resort)
If the problem persists across multiple sessions and after patches, a fresh install has resolved the issue for some users.
