How to Fix “Saving failed” or Profile Creation Issues in Hitman: Blood Money

1. Run the Game as Administrator



Right-click the game executable or shortcut.

Select Run as administrator.

This gives the game permission to write files to protected folders.

2. Check Folder Permissions
Navigate to your Documents folder (usually C:\Users\[YourName]\Documents\Hitman - Blood Money).

Right-click the folder → Properties → Security tab.

Ensure your user account has Full control.

If not, click Edit, then grant Full control to your user.

Apply changes and restart the game.

3. Disable Read-Only Attributes
Sometimes the save folder or files are set as read-only.

Right-click the Hitman: Blood Money save folder.

Select Properties.

Uncheck Read-only if checked.

Click Apply to all subfolders/files.

4. Check Disk Space
Make sure your drive (where the save folder is located) has enough free space.

5. Compatibility Mode (If on newer Windows)
Right-click game executable → Properties → Compatibility tab.

Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Windows 7.

Also, tick Run as administrator here.

Apply and launch the game.

6. Disable Cloud Saves (Steam)
If using Steam, sometimes cloud sync causes save conflicts.

In Steam, right-click the game → Properties → Updates tab.

Uncheck Enable Steam Cloud synchronization.

Launch the game and try saving again.

7. Verify Game Files
On Steam, right-click the game → Properties → Local Files → Verify integrity of game files.

This will fix any corrupted or missing files that could interfere with saving.
